New York Firm

We are a full service law firm, including a New York based personal injury and accident lawyer who has obtained millions of dollars in settlements and judgments for our clients, with offices in Brooklyn, Queens and Nassau County (Merrick, NY). For more than 40 years, we have been providing a broad range of high quality legal services to a wide variety of clients, including both businesses and individuals, throughout the greater New York metropolitan area.

When you are in need of:

  • A business lawyer for forming a new corporation, negotiating a lease or contract, litigating a breach of contract or applying for a trademark.

  • A real estate lawyer to buy or sell residential or commercial property.

  • A wills and estates lawyer to guide you through the complexities of planning or settling your personal affairs, or

  • An elder law attorney to help you decide appropriately among difficult choices.

  • A New York personal injury lawyer to help you get compensation for your injuries.

We will act on your behalf, in an aggressive, compassionate and competent manner, to get you the best possible results.

You may find yourself involved in a civil dispute. As a plaintiff or a defendant, there are procedural and substantive obstacles in a lawsuit that most would find difficult to navigate without putting themselves at a great disadvantage. Being involved in a lawsuit is much more complex than telling your side of the story before a judge or jury. Even having a solid understanding of the substantive laws pertaining to your dispute is not enough to present your case effectively.

- MARTIN CONNOR

I’ve retained Mr. Levy as my attorney several times now, and every single time the experience has been beyond great. Very professional and timely... and Mr. Levy takes the time to understand your issues before advising. Where other attorneys may hide behind vague email, Mr. Levy is accessible and takes the time to call and explain to you what a decision/option may make for you. He is very punctual and is willing to fight for you to get the most out of your case rather than just suggesting to settle. I have referred several family and friends over to Mr. Levy and will always obtain Mr. Levy for my Attorney needs going forward. Highly recommended!!

- ZAKARIA RAJU

- DESIREE BLACKMAN

I have been a client of Richard Levy for close to 4 decades. He has represented my family and me in multiple areas of the law including purchasing and selling real estate, debt collection, and landlord and tenant issues. His astute knowledge of the legal system and his dedication to us as clients is extraordinary. He is always available to answer any questions or concerns and to usher us through the legal system to get the most positive result.

- STEVE G

I found Richard through company legal service ARAG. He helped me close a house in Long Island. Unlike other attorneys who participated in ARAG, Richard did not treat ARAG clients second-tier. He was consistently responsive. He answered all my questions himself. If any inquiry went to his voice mail, he usually returned my call within a couple of hours. His assistant was very nice, too. But Richard handled most of client inquiries himself. Another merit was that he did not have any hidden fees. Some attorneys who participate in ARAG put additional service charge to clients at the closing table. The amount could be significant. And it came as total surprise. But you don't have time to argue at the closing table. It's almost fraudulent. But Richard was transparent and honest. I highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

QWhat should I expect an attorney to do for me?

QWhy should I hire the Law Offices of Richard M. Levy P.C. to handle my case?

A

We know you have a lot of options when it comes to Queens, Nassau and Brooklyn, NY area attorneys, which is why we’ve made it our priority to give you something you can’t find at every law firm – commitment to your case and a connection to your community with experience, skill and passion to help you get what you deserve.

Commitment to Our Clients
We understand that clients have real concerns when hiring a law firm. Will they actually listen to my issues? Will they work hard for me and give my matter the time it deserves? Lawyers are very expensive. We at the Law Offices of Richard M. Levy P.C. treat every client like we would want to be treated. Each client is appreciated with dedicated service tailored for that individual’s specific needs. Yes, there are fees but they are very reasonable and moderate for such an accomplished and experienced firm in the New York metropolitan area.

Our clients and adversaries praise us for our ability to hit the ground running every time we accept a case. When you hire The Law Offices of Richard M. Levy P.C. you can rest assured that we’ll aggressively, compassionately and competently pursue your case every step of the way.

QWhy should I hire an attorney to help me resolve my personal injury claim?
Can’t I just do it myself?

A

We get this question a lot, and while we can certainly appreciate the temptation to give it a try on your own, the chances that you’ll recover everything you’re entitled to are slim without the knowledge and experience of a personal injury attorney.

It’s a fact that hiring an attorney usually results in a higher net recovery to you for your damages. In fact, an insurance industry research institution that studied this very issue found that victims who were represented by attorneys ended up with more money in their pockets after attorney’s fees and costs than those without attorneys.

The bottom line is that working with an experienced personal injury attorney doesn’t cost you anything.

The Law Offices of Richard M. Levy P.C. will help you even the playing field when you’re going up against insurance companies and big corporations, and we’ll get you the results you deserve.

QDo I need an attorney to buy or sell a home?

A

While you are not legally required to have an attorney to buy or sell a home in New York, it is highly recommended that you do. Real estate transactions in New York can involve large transactions that may pose a substantial risk, and an attorney can safeguard your interests by preparing and reviewing contracts, inspecting titles, and assisting you with the closing process. If a dispute arises during the transaction, he or she can help resolve the dispute.

QWhat happens if an estate does not go through probate?

A

Not all estates must go through the probate process. For example, a person may have transferred property outside the probate process by using a trust or joint tenancy. Some people may qualify for a small estate administration process if they have personal property of limited value. However, a probate case will most likely need to be filed to transfer legal ownership of real property and certain other assets.
